Today is our first day of M-term, (yay) I am truthfully, very excited. Why? Well we get to make stuff! To be specific we get to make things out of wood. And to be even more specific we make two projects, the box project, and our personal project. For my box project I choose to do a picture frame for my mom, since those technically count as boxes. For my personal project I choose to make my own DM screen! With a dice tower in it!
But what we did today was the starting steps. We started with our design or blueprint for both projects. This took a while and had to deal with sketching, drawing, and a bit of math. And that took up most of the morning other than the breaks we did. Which I spent reading my book Cress, from the Lunar Chronicles Series. Then in the afternoon, we relearned about milling and resawing. Which took up a bit of time. Then we got a piece of wood and had to make it a S4S wooden board. A S4S is a board of wood that has 4 flat sides, that are also parallel to each other (milling). then once we did that with one board of wood into two pieces of wood (resawing). This was for practice since this is most definitely something we will be doing a lot through out this term. And that is pretty much all we did today!
