Day 2 (Jonah) Lumber Yard, Milling, and Sketching

Today, I worked on my sketch for my personal project in the morning in anticipation of the trip to the Lumber Yard. I confirmed my wood choice of 5/4 Genuine Hahogany with Mr. Grisbee before departure. After a quick drive across Houston and a long wait for a train crossing, our group arrived at Clark's Lumber. It did not take long to locate the desired woods. Most of us were using Mahogany, but we picked up some cherry and plywood before loading up the bus and heading back to school. After a break for lunch, we began the milling/re-sawing process. Unfortunately, we ran out of time, and I was unable to run my pieces through the planer. However, I did manage to create a scale sketch of my final project which will be a pair of geometric panels to hang above my bed. Today was uneventful other than the field trip and I am excited to begin assembling the box tomorrow and move on to my project of choice.
