Today we got to class at 8:30 ready to learn. Yesterday we planned to work on our designs until lunch and then make a run to Clark's Hardwood Lumber Company after lunch. We had to change the plan this morning as we learned that we would not be able to use the activity bus in the afternoon. Our new plan was to work on our designs until 10, when we would go to the lumberyard to be back by lunch. At the lumberyard everybody - except me - picked genuine mahogany for their boxes, I chose thermal treated ash because I liked the color more. We also picked up plywood for all of the people who needed plywood. I got a 4ft x 8ft x 3/4in sheet of plywood for my shelf. After lunch we got back together and were milling and resawing our wood so we can use it tomorrow. I had to make a lot of cuts because I bought thicker wood than the others. We spent the rest of the day milling, resawing, and planing our wood so that we could hopefully finish our boxes tomorrow.
I am really pleased with the progress that I have made on my project so far and cannot wait to have the finished project so that I can use it.
