Today is the third day of this term! And wow, what a day it was! We started the day finishing milling, and resawing our wood. But one thing I learn throughout the night is that the wood I choose for my mothers picture frame is her least favorite color of wood. Which kinda sucks for me, the person trying to make her a nice gift that she will totally hate! Truthfully I did have a kind of meltdown about it and all the things going wrong in my life. But Mr. Grisbee, our teacher for this term, came to the rescue of my poor mind and had a big enough scrap piece that I could use instead for my picture frame. it was exactly what I needed, and I got back to work turning the pieces into the right size for the walls of my picture frame. Then we went to lunch.
during lunch, I also read more of the book I started, since I finished Cress. the book I am reading now is called Sorcery and Small Magics, which is a funny cozy fantasy.
this is the book I am reading now
when we got back from lunch we got a lesson about dados and rabbets. Dados are are indents into the wood like a strip through it, they can go in both the sides of the wood and the middle of the sides. Rabbets are cuts that are angled, thing of a 45 degree angle in the wood. Today I did both rabbets and dados. when doing the dado, I did make a mistake on the first one, but I am now calling the mistake 'the hole for your firger to pull out the back of the picture frame', so its not a bad mistake at all! A
nd thats what we did for the whole day, even though it felt very long we didn't do much.
