Today our plan was to work on our personal projects for the whole day. I started the day off by trimming down my shelves so that they would fit into the frame that I am building for them. My shelves will be 35 1/4in by 10 3/4in by 3/4in, my sides will be 33 3/4in by 10 1/4in by 3/4in, and my top and bottom will be 36in by 10 1/4in by 3/4in. After I was done with trimming down my shelves I finished varnishing the inside of my box and left it to dry, we will burnish it at some point in the future. After lunch I was able to burnish my box. After that I varnished it again. Around 1:45 I was finally able to get some time on the table saw so that I could cut rabbets and dados for my shelves. I changed the table saw blade so that I could use a dado stack to cut dados and rabbets the width that I wanted. A dado stack is a bunch of thinner blades that you can stack so that you can cut to your desired width. After I was done with the dado stack I changed the blade back so that the others could use the saw again. I am very happy with the cuts that I have made on my bookcase so far and can't wait to have the finished product.
I have no clue how but I forgot to take more than one picture today. :(
