Day 8 (Leo) - Putting the back on my bookcase

Today, I didn't do much aside from gluing the back onto my bookshelf and beginning to apply edge banding to the shelf. First thing in the morning, I cut my backing to size and put it in, after that I glued it in and weighed it down with random items that I had at hand (4 hammers, a box of screwdrives, my waterbottle, and 4 stools)then I waited for the glue to dry for the next 2.5 hours. This was a very entertaining and intensive process, so entertaining and intensive that I was able to finish an entire book in that time. (Artemis by Andy Weir) After I got back from lunch, I ironed on some decorative edge banding so that the shelf doesn't look like it is made out of plywood. I then chiseled down the banding that was hanging off the edge. This is all I did today. Today was interesting ... but uneventful. Tomorrow I plan to sand the shelf.
